Top tech sub-sectors from global startup ecosystem report featured heavily at the #BCTECH Summit

  Today, Startup Genome released its Global Startup Ecosystem Report. It dives deep into tracking ecosystems and emerging industries, and includes key learnings from one million companies, nearly 100 ecosystems, and the world’s largest primary research with tech founders. According to the report, the global top four growing sub-sectors include advanced manufacturing and robotics, big data and analytics, blockchain and artificial intelligence, and agtech. Renowned Economist to host free community prosperity workshop

The City of Prince George is helping to bring a world-renowned economist to Prince George for a free workshop on building community prosperity. On May 30, economist and author Michael Shuman will present Local Economy Solutions, a workshop about economic development and how cities can prevent money from leaving the community. The free half-day event was organized by Simon Fraser’s Certificate Program for Community Economic Development in partnership with the City of Prince George, Integris Credit Union, and the Innovation Central Society. It will be held at the Hubspace, 1299 Third Ave. from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Residents can register at https://localeconomysolution_princegeorge.eventbrite.ca. Launch of the Hubspace Community in Prince George

  Innovation Central Society (ICS) is proud to announce the opening of the HUBSPACE, located at 1299 Third Ave (on the corner of Quebec St.). What is the HUBSPACE? The HUBSPACE is 5500 sq. ft. of open space concept style that will house everything from freelancers, independent contractors, solopreneurs and multi-staffed start-ups. There will be events and community gatherings as well as services available for early stage companies, non-profits, community groups, and social enterprises. Over 100 Prince George students will participate in Codecreate

Community comes together to raise awareness about importance of computer science education by participating in the global Hour of Code campaign November 30, 2015 (Prince George) - Over 100 Prince George students will participate in the largest province-wide Codecreate youth coding event on Saturday, December 12 to celebrate the Hour of Code, a grassroots global computer science and digital literacy awareness campaign aimed to encourage students around the world to try computer programming from December 7 to 13.
